[SD] Amateur img2img tinkering
Sorry in advance because I can't remember what settings I used for the 2nd step. Also, I still don't know what I'm doing so I just chose options and values randomly; therefore, I won't take responsibility if you follow my example and get deep fried images. XD
The 1st image is the result I settle with, just to make it clear. Here is what I did to reach that point.
1st step:
First I used Mitsuri Kanroji image (from the wiki) as a base to img2img a character with that kinda pose, with this prompt: "Mitsuri Kanroji. Smooth highly-detailed masterpiece pixel-art by professional artistry Sega, Namco, Neogeo, Capcom. Balanced colors and cinematic lighting scheme by Makoto Shinkai and Ilya Kuvshinov and Tom Bagshaw and Greg Rutkowski. High quality anime artstyle. Trending on artstation. Smooth, sharp focus, tone mapping"
I didn't bother to change the name because Stable Diffusion's v1.4 model doesn't recognize Mitsuri, I think.
Settings for img2img with Deforum Colab (seed was randomly chosen):
"seed": 524390211, "W": 512, "H": 704, "sampler": "euler_ancestral", "steps": 35, "scale": 12, "ddim_eta": 0, "strength": 0.4
I then tried to paint over most of the blemishes (like the jagged blue lines) in the output and smooth things out the best I can to prepare for the next session of img2img.
2nd step:
I was kicked out of Colab due to forgetting to disconnect (and ended up being marked as "high usage") while I was painting, so I used DreamStudio to img2img instead. I'm sure I must have chosen the v1.4 model (DreamStudio offers both 1.4 and v1.5); kept width, height, and sampler the same. But I don't remember how many steps and how much for image strength. I had to retry a few times anyway, and then I chose to work on one of the outputs (which I accidentally saved over so I can't show here either) by painting the blemishes away the best I can, until I got the final result.
I'm not an artist by any means, but I have a soft spot for this character that the RNG god has given me, which is why I worked so hard to fix the most jarring stuff despite not knowing how to draw. From what I remember, I gave her bangs and slight brows (they looked blended together originally), added some fluff to her hair, and tried to fix the patterns of her dress and her hands. Her boots are cut off, but I don't have the option of outpainting, so it has to stay that way. And I'm sure it has many errors still, but I think I'm satisfied enough for now. :D
