i went with a more desaturated palette, which made an interesting result. still having a bit of trouble getting the character to stand out from the background as much. perhaps i might need to desaturate the background or make it darker next time? second page is line art only

update 2023-03-05: i gave this piece a bit more time in the oven. tone curves + paintover corrections. also added a screentoned minimal version that i'm currently using as my banner
