竜宮レナ雨の下 Ryūgū Rena Under Rain

Hi! How are you doing? Here's Ryuugu Rena from ひぐらしのなく頃に (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, or When They Cry in English). The English translation of what's written in Japanese in there is "Good morning, Keiichi-kun.". I wanted to draw her in a rainy setting, imagining herself waiting for Keiichi to go school together. I'm not sure if the lighting and shadows atmosphere are okay, I'm still practicing with it. I wanted to give an atmosphere that felt like "it's still raining, but it's almost stopping, because I made some dark tree shadows on the street with a sunny lighting, and left the sky in white". So you can assume that the rain is almost going to stop. You can also imagine this as a metaphor that Rena felt sad being alone, waiting for Keiichi, but once she noticed him reaching at her, everything started to become more light and less gloomy, bit by bit. I feel very proud of the background, though!

Speaking of the Japanese writing, I decided to make it like that because I kind of wanted to give a Visual Novel feeling, sort of. I didn't want to put an English writing. I'm not sure though if I'm going to do this everytime, because I don't really have that kind of knowledge of the language, yet. I still do wanna study it over the years, of course. I'm not even sure if my writing grammar was correct for where I should have put the words, ect...If some Japanese people will see this illustration and feel offended by my bad Japanese grammar, I apologize. :'3
