Multiversal racing tournament

There’s a racing tournament being held across different universes consisting on a series of circuits. The main prize? A single wish. But there is a catch, the racers of each vessel must drive in couples, with one being the driver and the other serving as his assistant and “power source”.
What does this mean? The assistants will be provided specialized catalyzing suits, able to convert emotions into power for the machine that is being driven via an attachment equipped to it, the strongest the emotion the assistant feels for the driver the more energy their suit will be able to convert into power for the vessel being driven.
And so mysterious flyers were scattered across the multiverse, explaining this information and inviting whoever couple is interested to enter and have their wish granted.
