Jetter Mars

Jetter Mars is a prototype robot created by Dr. Yamanoue who created the body and Dr. Kawashimo who created the electronic brain.

Despite being both his creators, Dr. Yamanoue and Dr. Kawashimo had different views of how Mars should be used.

For instance, Dr. Yamanoue wished Mars to be used for warfare while Dr. Kawashimo wished Mars to follow a peaceful life style.

Mars is later taken under Dr. Kawashimo's wing after Dr. Yamanoue's death which occurred after an bomb experiment went wrong.

Jetter Mars is also the protagonist of an anime of same name which was meant to be a spiritual remake of Astro Boy whose rights weren't available at the time.

The series got cancelled with just 27 episodes due studio interference and later Tezuka got the rights for Astro Boy and created New Astro Boy which was made in full color.
