Astarte chapters as Guardsmen
Awhile ago I did a piece where I made famous guardsmen regiments into astartes chapters. Some people suggested I do the other thing in reverse and so here we are! It's an alternate history where after the Horus Heresy, the High Lords of Terra decided to ban all space marines because the fallout of the Heresy was so destructive. They also mis-interpreted a direct quote from the Emperor where he claims to have "regretted making the Legions" but he was actually talking about the traitor legions. Regardless, in this AU each chapter still recruits from the same planet as the mainline universe but are structured like a guardsmen regiment where humanity just throws loads of them at an enemy until they bury them in bodies. Also, gene seeds are gone but in this AU, the Imperium is a little more comfortable with genetic enhancements and cybernetics for regular soldiers.
If I left out a marine chapter you like, I apologize but there's also like 70 of them. I tried to pick the coolest ones I could think would make good guardsmen. Also I threw in a traitor chapter too just cause I like to do that sometimes. Hope you like these designs! Perhaps they get people interested in what the larger army of each regiment would look like from just seeing the most basic guardsmen version.

Totally dig the Regiment of the Damned, btw.
View RepliesWouldn't be surprised to see the AK kicking around in the 41st millennium, seeing as the M2 Browning's still in service.
