AER-9 Laser Weapon System

In an alternate timeline, where nuclear war had turned the Earth into a radioactive wasteland, technology still has evolved to the point of direct-energy weapons. Among those weapons is the AER-9 laser weapon platform, which has been seen since the first game and seen in the hands of a number of factions. The weapon itself was manufactured by General Atomics prior to the war, utilizing microfusion cells as ammunition.

The weapon system is capable of several configurations, including as a pistol and rifle, with a number of different modifications to choose from and utilize in the Wasteland. While not the most advanced in laser technology, the AER-9 is still able to turn a person into ashes or simply gooify them. The weapon has seen in practically every game since the first, as well as making its live-action debut in the Fallout TV Series.
