The King of Swords
Known by many names such as the iron sentinel, automaton king and master executioner, Konstantin Osmanović is the Grand Master Consort of the Sultana and Imperial Legate of the Zervani Legion. He was a former slave of sea demon origin who saw his master executed and had both his arms cut off by the Baron of Karash as punishment. After the whole debacle, he was saved by the Corsair Captain, Asen Nikolov, a friend of his late master Osman the Marauder. He would serve as a navigator from this point on.
Nikolov's crew would then get their hands on a mysterious Sarkabi Dominion merchant ship. The ghost ship contained a scrapped basilisk, a thing described as an attempt at a mechanical mockery of life. Basilisks are created by the followers of mechanicianism with the goal of creating rebirthed beings, part man, part machine. A sea demon heart and an altered human brain are vital to this research. To this day, these machines have been banned from most nations due to religious or ethical reasons, and even the fear of them exacting vengeance. The mechanicians never made breakthroughs. Their parts, however, fetch a fortune and are occasionally used by humans as prosthetics.
The captain knew his crew found a fortune, and so he got in touch with the rebel leader Farhana, who sent weapons in exchange for the basilisk. Days passed, and nothing was gained as the machine did not have the necessary parts the engineers needed for their ship. Seeing no alternative, Farhana's chief engineer returned and offered to forge arms from the machine to be grafted into Konstantin, in exchange for the Captain's allegiance in the coming fights.
The captain agreed, saying: "Farhana knows how much Konstantin means to me. Before his arms were severed, he was a fine soldier who fought for my friend Osman. That man saved my crew time and time again. He bought slaves, freed them and trained them to become his brothers in arms. This is the least I could do as gratitude." This also gave Konstantin the means to fight back and overthrow the Baron.
True to his word, Captain Nikolov and the rest joined Farhana's rebellion against the Zervani Confederacy. This rebellion would ultimately be successful in uniting the warring archipelago into a great thalassocracy. Konstantin's mental ingenuity and proficiency with violence made him the primary choice to become the newly crowned Sultana Farhana's spouse.
Unfortunately, being a half machine, it makes it difficult for him to wear skin suit disguises. Instead, he covers himself up with a custom forged armour in order to appear human. This form gives him the appearance of a lifeless sentinel protecting the Sultana. Konstantin acts as the executioner of the highest crimes in public spectacles, either by showing mercy through a quick stroke of a blade, or setting his victim up for a devilish death by having their eyes seared by his right hand while being electrocuted by the other.
