Vár

During one of Neodrach's own searches for a Pagan artifact, she stumbled upon the aftermath of a battle of the Byzantines and Arabs. She looked around and tried to find anyone alive. As she continued, she saw movement. A fatally wounded Varangian was attempting to get up, to no avail.

Neodrach squatted down an offered him his vengeance against the Arabs. He only needed to swear loyalty to her. After a few brief moments, the Varangian agreed. Neodrach kept her promise as the life faded from the man.

When he awoke, Neodrach pointed the way the Arabs were. The Varangian, Neodrach, and her "Eternal Army" marched towards the camp and slaughtered them. The Varangian kneeled down and pledged his oath to her. Neodrach asked him his name, but none was given. This was of little concern to her so she simply called the man "Vár"

Over the years, he had become increasingly useful and capable to Neodrach. To the point in which Neodrach would always have him front and center of her army. She granted him a place among her personal guard and he gratefully accepted the position.
