Princess Opal

Somehow, the idea of Opal as a princess in the Super Mario Bros. universe managed to get me to actually draw something. It kind of reminded me to just try to have fun with my art once in a while, and not always be so hellbent on trying to make big pieces.

Opal is the princess of the Starlight Kingdom, a land that specializes in defensive magic. She is a transwoman*, and absolutely loves cute, frilly dresses. While she is recognized as a woman, and as a princess within her own kingdom, she does have some troubles with a kingdom or two. She is a bit shy, and more reserved. One of her best friends is Birdie, and is good friends with Luigi.

*Only this specific iteration of Opal is trans. And no, I will NOT be answering any creepy questions about her. Please respect trans people in the comments, or don't say anything at all if you cannot be respectful.
