anime expression study practice

none of the characters here are mine and most of this is traced.
the characters are misty from pokemon
momo ayase from dandadan
okarun from dandadan
tomoko kuroki from watamote
saikawa from miss kobayashi's dragon maid

as for the eyes I copied but didn't trace at the bottom I gave credit but tohru from kobayashi's dragon maid
riko from made in abyss
and red from the pocket monsters 1996 gag manga not to be confused with pokespe

I'm really happy to have done this. it was mostly tracing obviously I was happy to see little things you can do that never really occurred to me until I said them to myself. like yea remove the sclara for eyes that give off maybe a smug vibe or suspicious vibe or maybe other feelings if you also change the eyelid shape itself by maybe making it more slanted for a frustrated look or slanted upwards for more of a disappointed or unsurprised look. remove the pupils and iris for some anger shots, maybe a drained deflated look. like sometimes just saying something to yourself or writing it makes it more of an observation or fact that you can then keep in mind while you draw which I guess is part of the point of drawing studies right? and I think it's further taught me to be a bit more free when doing lines or rather sketching. like if a character needs a more stretched out mouth to give a certain feeling maybe I can now think about that stuff more first before actually sketching. I know it sounds simple and some of it certainly is but it's also something that's just useful to keep in mind and I'm certainly gonna try to be more creative in the future while putting some of this into practice.
