The Realms of Rise of Dawn
The Magics:
Primal Magic is the base, animalistic side of ones being, imposed through the subconscious movements of the instinct and feelings of desire, the living spirits. Those who practice primal magic are broadly known as 'Shamans', with two specific classes; 'Druids' and 'Witches'. Druids are those who, focusing on their connection to their nature as an animal to guide their instincts, calling upon spirits of nature to become one with them. Witches are those who feed on and cast through their own desires and the desires of others, feeding on those desires to make their magic more powerful though the use of hexes and curses.
Chaos Magic vests itself in the chaotic, ceaseless frenzy and mania of the mind. The very core of chaos magic is found in ones own intrusive thoughts, as well as the thoughtless static that comes from the hyperactive, disorganized whirlwind of the mind. Those who draw on chaos magic are known as Evokers. The power of the Evokers is varied and chaotic, manifesting in increasingly uncontrollable and powerful ways the more experienced an Evoker becomes.
Arcane Magic is the magic of the elemental and material world, which is drawn on through the active and passive emotions one feels. The Arcane uses the eight fundamental forces to act as building blocks which binds all other effects together. Those who master the arcane are known as 'Wizards'. Elements are drawn on through the combination of the emotions, known as 'Pneuma': happiness (healing), sadness (alteration), anger (destruction), and fear (conjuration).
The Sorceries:
Mystical Sorcery has a unique connection to the arcane, drawing on imagination and dreams to channel their spirit to a position of constant dwelling and traveling. Those who nest their spirits in such a way are known as 'Mystics'. Mystics draw on specific imagery and ideas to guide their spirits and minds, particularly a connection to skies, lights, and colors, though of the sorceries the mystical realm is the most varied.
Eldritch Sorcery has a strong connection to the notions of eternal depth and descension, in which those who practice it seem to perceive their abilities as their spirits descending deeper and deeper down a bottomless abyss. Those who delve to these unknowable deeps gain a connection to manifestations of this abyss, and take upon the title of 'Warlocks'. Manifesting their powers through increasingly complex geometry, warlocks are capable of purloining magics as they utilize their sanity as a sort of currency to draw on the abyss.
Astral Sorcery is connected to the cosmos, looking to the stars and celestial bodies to ascend their spirits to a higher plane of existence. Those who ascend their spirits to greater heights in such a way are known as 'Sages'. Sages utilize constellations and stardust to cast their spells, tapping into the music of the cosmos and movements of the celestial bodies to guide their own as they project their spirits among the stars.
