Fedayeen

A character wearing the uniform of the Fedayeen Saddam to the right, in a kufiya and the character to the left in uniform of all-female paramilitary organisation from the era of the Baathist Iraq in the 1990s(i have no idea about it's name or even what it did- sources are so hard to find nowadays)
The Fedayeen Saddam were created in Tishreen 1994 and mostly recruited from the university students or high school students, and were created after the start of the insurgency of the supporters of al-Sadr after the Gulf war to keep the order inside the country or take part in pacifying the rebellions. Nonetheless the members were both sunni and shia.
Some of them joined the organisation voluntarily- out of their own persuasions or out of lack of a better opportunity- as usual, people have different stories.
They took part in pacifying a revolt in basra in 1999 , when many of them were killed alongside the Baath members. They were also ignored by the US forces, and played an important role in fighitng back in 2003
