Royal Roller & his Cosmic Crush

I’ve been a fan of Katamari Damacy since I was a young kid, so I’ve decided I’d start posting Katamari art alongside my usual Pokémon stuff, starting with Katamari’s 5cm tall hero, the Dashing Prince, and his dear darling, the Adorable Princess - who I hope and pray gets added to the new Katamari game (“Katamari Damacy: Rolling LIVE” on Apple Arcade) since it’s slated to receive at least one content update.

My designs of the Prince and the Princess differ quite heavily from official depictions of them, both from the classic era of Katamari and from the modern cast redesign that started with the no-longer-available Amazing Katamari Damacy on iOS.
The characters’s eyes are wider and have visible pupils and they have visible thumbs. Their feet also look like they can be stood with rather than just being little spheres. Their antennae also have more bendy stems to give the characters more… well, character! I also decided to give at least Prince and Princess sphere-shaped heads, with the pill shapes of their headdresses instead hiding long, flowing hair (Princess’s brunette hair was always partially visible but Prince’s hair color has never been known - so I decided to take a cue from fanart and give him the same blonde hair as his mother, the Queen of All Cosmos).
The Princess’s design is the one I’ve changed more drastically - her arms are more chubby, she has thumbs now like the Prince and his cousins (Princess isn’t a cousin, don’t worry), and she forgoes her purple leggings in favor of a cute pair of pink shoes. Her thighs and rear also have much more mass - which may be why she doesn’t wear her leggings, they probably wouldn’t fit up them. Her description does mention she loves chocolate cake, so she may have put too much of that away and it all went and plumped up her thighs and rear (and a little into her arms)… not that she or the Prince are complaining, Her chubby bod means bigger cozier snuggles!^^

Alt versions show the Prince and the Princess without their headdresses, and extra alts of the Princess show her without her shoes, revealing her cute bean-shaped peets. (Normally bare feet on characters who aren’t normally seen like that make me uncomfortable, but I think I did it alright with Princess here - they’re simple, cute, don’t have a needless amount of detail that just makes them gross, and they’re shaped like beans!)
