A Gift to Snek's Parents
Since Snek didn't have his drawing tablet for Mother's Day and with Father's Day soon approaching, Snek decided to make a card dedicated to both his parents and the lengths they took to adopt Snek from Guatemala and bring him and his siblings into 'Murcia. If it wasn't for them you wouldn't be seeing Snek's art right now. Thank you Mom and Dad ~
The creatures you see in this drawing are called Suckershucks and since the day they first came into what's now called Entoan's Forest, they have always been sentimental creatures and prioritize family relationships above all else.
The beginning of Suckershuck's life involves their seed-like egg hatching and giving them the strength to sprout from the earth. Youngling Suckershucks have a gelatinous body and two stubby toes to walk around and explore their home of Rosemary Fields, where they will experience all the aspects of life and make friends with both their own species and other Mook Misfits. As they continue to explore and grow the young Suckershuck, depending on what gender they were born as, will soon find their soulmate of the opposite gender. They will then work as a team to survive the wilderness and become closer as their love for each other grows and improves.
Once the lovely pair of Suckershucks reach adulthood they'll find a suitable pond and once they find one they'll quite literally tie the knot. Their gelatinous bodies will shed and become strong, thick roots which then tangle and tie around both partners' own roots. All the while both Suckershucks will be passionately loving each other in a mating ritual. Once at least 3 months have passed the female Suckershuck will spit out a seed-like egg and plant it in the ground with the male. Thus they then watch over their egg and protect it from would-be predators.
Suckershucks, along with their immense size, are formidably powerful and since their's two of them, both parents are adequately capable of protecting their child. Just by swinging their heads like a flail, they hold massive amounts of raw power that will fling enemies over 100 meters. They can also spit a highly corrosive acid from their mouths that melts anything the moment contact is made.
After another 3 months, the Suckershuck parents will witness their egg hatch into a newly birthed youngling. Its gender will be unknown for now until it becomes a young adolescent. The parents will continue to watch and care for their child until they leave the nest and once the child is old enough to fend for itself the two Suckershuck parents will spend the rest of their elderly years together with each other.
The life of a Suckershuck is a beautiful thing, they start off alone, find a soulmate, and then live together. In fact, the bond between both Suckershuck partners is so strong that when one, unfortunately, passes away the other one will also pass away out of grief from losing their partner. But it's not all bad as the parents left their mark on their child as the cycle continues.
