Yoko Shantae (HGH-Style)

Hi-hi to anyone who is reading this!

So, this is Shantae, the hair-whipping, belly-dancing, half-genie guardian of Scuttle Town and the game developer WayForward’s overall mascot.

When I'm feeling depressed or unmotivated, my love for drawing tends to vanish with my feelings--but after coming across the Shantae: ½ Genie Hero Kickstarter, it felt like my artistic skills were breathed into with a new sense of enthusiasm, and so I wanted to try my hand at some fan-work of the character.

And so the first drawing I try my hand at features her dressed in the attire of the iconic heroine, Yoko Littner (or Yoko Ritona), from the Japanese anime & manga series, Gainax's 天元突破グレンラガン / Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Working on this drawing was just so much fun, and I hope to do even more in the near future.
