As the Feline-Martian war went on,the cats' industry was facing more and more difficulty in compensating the heavy losses of war machines ,and the resource was much limited,that even the weak "Hammer "self-propelled gun was considered too costly to be put in mass production.
In order to patch up the defence line,the cats conscripted many civilian vehicles into service,simply mount any available guns on them, used them to move the guns into defensive ambush operation.
Among these vehicles,the most common one was the KAZ-3( 1.5t), that was a commercially successful truck produced by the Kedistan Automobil Factory, it's strong chasis,decent engine,good handling and reasonable price made it a popular truck for all trades.When pressed into service,slogans such as"down with the strider","kill the monster" or "for the motherland" would normally painted on both sides of the cargo platform.
The most common gun that mounted on these vehicles was 57mm or 37mm QF,and in some rare occasion,a 105mm cannon or twin-20mm autocannon.In order to save the cost,these guns often came with simple ironsight and without a shield .To increase the hit ratio,some rangefinders were also dispensed,but the number is far from adequate.
Like the "Hammer",these guns were given less than 20 shells,out of the consideration of the vehicle would not survive long enough to fire many times in the combat.
The gun crew was consisted of 3 cats:a commander/rangefinder/radiocat，a gunner and a driver/loader.The crew was mostly local militia cat or unexperienced volunteers.
Although the gun trucks were only a improvised fighting vehicle, when concentrated in good ambush position and well coordinated ,they could effectively knock out the Strider in one or two salvo without suffering heavy casualty.
