Hacker and his brother Data were kept in a laboratory, not allowed to go outside. Hacker’s father, Copper, was experimenting and went a little insane. To increase his own power, Copper started eating other monsters’ souls. Data was made to assist Copper by collecting souls for him. At some point, Data disappeared; Hacker assumed that he died. Now Hacker’s mother, Plate, was the last thing standing in between Copper and Hacker. Copper killed her and ate her soul right in front of Hacker. Hacker ran away from his father and plotted to end his evil plans.

Eventually, every monster in the whole Technotale AU had been eaten… So Copper starting hunting souls from other AUs. His first targets were Papyruses from places like UnderFell and UnderSwap. This is why the other Sanses were after Hacker; they assumed -he- was the one kidnapping their precious brothers. They didn’t know that Copper existed, much less what he was doing. So for the story of Technotale, Hacker is trying to find a way to stop his father while the Sanses from other AUs are trying to stop Hacker.

At the end of Technotale, Hacker kills his own father and frees all of the kidnapped monsters. However, he doesn’t think that’s enough. He fears that someone could find Copper’s technology and use it to continue the evil plans. So Hacker does the only thing he can think of: He destroys the -entire- AU. It almost kills him in the process. Blue drags him out of the crumbling AU and heals him (again). Hacker, who developed a crush on Blue the last time they met, sees Blue with his boyfriend and feels like he doesn’t belong.
