Meaning of Life

When I was a kid I disliked legendaries a lot just because I felt they were cheap to use in game, and thus, never developed a bond with any of them like I did with the pokemon in my party. Eventually I softened up, and besides Lugia who I also came to love, Mewtwo has become one of my favorite Pokemon because of his backstory.

He was recently buffed in Smash Ultimate, so I've been using him more, which led me to think more about him and the first Pokemon movie I watched as a 6 year old kid, and how recently I've come to appreciate that movie more because it explores how Mewtwo comes to terms with life being worth living and he ends up going far away looking for a place where he and the pokemon clones he made can be happy.

Recent events, the death of a really influential and cheerful man, made me wish we could all find that happiness throughout our journey we call life. I guess I drew this both as a tribute to Mewtwo, and to that man, who also I remember because he was most excited to see Mewtwo coming back as DLC in Smash 4. Rest in peace. And for the rest of us, may we find the resolve to keep going on this journey, life, and find some joy along the way to keep us going.
