Tea in the Desert
Inktober, Day Twenty-One. Prompt: sleep.
While possibly abstract, this image leads to sleep. Or I might just be extremely attracted to the desert. Prince Faisal in David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia had a line that went, "I think you are another of these desert-loving English: Doughty, Stanhope, Gordon of Khartoum. No Arab loves the desert. We love water and green trees, there is nothing in the desert. No man needs nothing." While I am not English nor do I live in any temperate country, there is indeed a sort of romance with the nomadic lifestyle that I am attracted to. Whether they be Bedouin, Eurasian Nomad, Cowboy or the South American equivalents like the Gaucho, Llanero, or Morochucos.
Done in brush and ink on bond paper.
