Blacktober 2020

On Twitter, some black artists decided to do a challenge that related to reimagining our favorite anime and cartoon characters as Black characters. This was a way so show our creativity and to empower ourselves since there’s still not enough black characters in social media. And when there are, we still have racist assholes complaining about that. This challenge inspired me to do more black themed art because for so long I tried to distance myself from it despite being black myself. Because of this challenge I have more confidence in my art and I’m going to draw more black themed art like this in the future. I know that I’ll still encounter racist hate accounts who’re jealous of us and ignorant but that just proves how much hate that they’re filled with. This is the best challenge that I’ve ever been in. Goes to show how I’m black and proud ✊🏾
