• Soft-bodied, multi-limbed, marine creatures that can be found in tropical coral reefs, these merfolks are predatory and their diet mainly consists of coral.
Crown-of-Thorns and other Starfish merfolk are known as Echinodermoids, they are considered not merfolk by some as of their bizarre appearance but like Crustaceanoids they fit close enough. Crown-of-Thorns and others like them can eat by spitting out their stomachs and digest the prey slowly. These particular merfolks mainly eat coral and are so destructive that they can nearly devour a reef with the help of others in the vicinity. Many measures have been making ways to keep their population down and help coral reef growth, especially when coral reefs are the homes to many species of marine life.
