Lame title is lame...
I have a productive day today; two works got done! :happybounce: This is a school work (started in the last year), done on A3 paper. Our task was to do a value work from a smaller black-and-white image. As you can see from my ref it's a rather old pic and a bit hard to make out the details at some parts. This turned a huge problem to me and I had trouble on drawing the boy's eye as you can barely see it from the image. But I chose this photo becaus I wanted to challenge myself for drawing faces for the first time on this big paper with a pencil (I know, I know, couldn't have chosen any easier picture, but I like challenges so a hard work it is. =P (Razz) My ref even had the grid but I was too lazy to do that to my work so I just spent ages sketching the proportions)
Also this one was one of the few images that really caught my eye, it just had something adorable and undescribably lovely in it. :aww: And it took forever... especially the shading on the faces, never again! I had an idea for the hair but in the end I kind of lost it (mean the boy) and just fooled around with the pencil trying to clean up the mess. ^^; And the hero of this drawing was, 7B, it's all thanks to it this work ever got done! I used it a lot in the end, so all the darkest parts are made with it. ;) A bit rushed in the end but I just wanted to get this done before I start reading for the tests.
My apologies that the paper is a bit folded here and there, that happened when I brought took this with me to finish it at home (because out visual arts atmosphere isn't the best one. Hobbyist artist and non-artists aren't always a wonderful mix...) and I had to fold it a little so that it wouldn't get wet, as I didn't have anything that big where to carry it but a bag. Next time I'd better take a folder... Well, hope you like it! :meow:

Used: Cretacolour Pencils, Derwent Charcoal Pencils and a kneaded eraser.
