Nathan and Hugh - Random Sprites
Long title: Steward and Brave Friend - Random Outfit Sprites
2nd image is the same except with color palettes for most sprites. [Yes, it is messy.] In addition are expressions toward drawing them or just the character sharing their mood. The text on the third row of sprites is my self-reminder about the upcoming CotM anniversary based on the Japan release.
Initially a brainstorming activity for drawing a couple more outfits for Nathan as the Midnight Emerald. Some time later, the idea was changed. Hugh was added as in imagining what he would look like 14 years after the event of CotM. After #12, I decided to draw both Nathan and Hugh, turning from building ideas for my current CotM fan fiction to a random collection of sprites consisted of outfit ideas for both gentlemen, from elegant to absurd.
Nathan
1-2. Initial starting point for drawing him as a vampire retaining his human side. Colors and design for #1 were based on the original CotM outfit. #2 is the alternative design. Calm and collected but implied to be playful.
3-4. Experimenting with an addition of red colors. At that time I imagined him carrying a dark samurai sword with this outfit. #4 is the same as #3 but without the red.
5. Reworked on his Midnight Emerald outfit. The result made him look quite like Loki (of the Marvel franchise.)
6. Knight and Knowledge outfit in pixels. A bit of revision.
Hugh (pointing while "having a laugh")
7. Initial outfit design. Despite the "baron-like" appearance, Hugh became a cleric destined to cleanse Nathan from vampirism. Outfit name idea: Perfect Prototype. [He had no regrets in shortening his hair, for he missed Nathan.]
8. Drew another outfit for him but with an approach in applying a white "scarf". He looked younger with it though.
9. Exaggerated his "baron" appearance. He looks more like a rich bard at this time, especially with that hat.
10. Attempted to draw him as a young independent cleric. He partly resembles Del Cottonwood (Shadowgate 64) as a result.
11. Based on #1-2
12. Hugh in a scholar's outfit with twin tails. [Yes, I'm still teasing his long hair for that.]
Nathan & Hugh
13. Casual outfits (a.k.a. the boys in the modern era)
14. Additional ideas for #1
15. "Stylish Suit" outfit. A tribute to an old CotM video from the past.
16. Dark outfits for "the boys turned vampires"
17. Asian-styled outfit. This is what happened when listening to the shmup Ikaruga OST while thinking of CotM.
18. Original CotM outfit with a little twist: Hugh has a ponytail and Nathan wears a headband with bunny-eared bow.
Just something to at least celebrate the Circle of the Moon 21st Anniversary earlier since it's not easy to find a good time as of the current schedule.
Back to work for RS.
Nathan Graves, Hugh Baldwin, and contents from Castlevania: Circle of the Moon belong to Konami.
