Armored Catfish merfolk and Pleco mermaids are widely popular for aquariums as they keep tanks clean by eating algae.
Armored Catfish Merfolk are commonly found in the tropical freshwaters of South America and the Caribbeans, Pleco mermaids are commonly adopted for aquariums as they can eat algae keeping their tanks clean. Most Pleco merfolk species eat vegetation, some are more carnivorous and will eat small fish, smaller merfolk, and crustaceans. They are armored, this protects them from larger predatory merfolk and other predatory creatures.
