Ami - V2 (Novel AI)

Following along with our player's route east from San Salvacion, skipping some minor questy stuff, the next main event will take place in Canerd, the Anean mainland Capital for the remnant of Nordennavic. Rena steers the group here because she wants to visit the HQ of the Blue Grays, an aid organization set up by the Grays Royal Family who stayed in Nordennavic while most of the aristocracy fled to Emmeria to set up the provisional government. The last of Nordennavic's legendary healers work beneath the Blue Grays' banner.

They will enter the HQ and meet a nice receptionist lady. After chatting for a bit, they will incur the wrath of Lanna, the current head of the organization, who was appointed by and answers directly to the Royal Family. Her reference is Kaltsit. You can imagine how she'd react to unwanted noise. They'll learn of one of her thousand problems: The Tormentor of Black Five. A Demonic Tormentor who's made its layer on top of the distinct black peaks of a mountain near Milan, about 2 hours north of Canerd. Lanna tosses the group out so they'll stop annoying her while aggressively suggesting they go deal with the Tormentor. Enter Ami.

Ami is a Leporid. A very rare species which descended from the ancient Harefolk who used to inhabit the islands of Nordennavic. She was orphaned during the Teleport Crisis that claimed the vast majority of Nordennavic and now works closely under Lanna. Bright, cheerful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help others. She often travels alone, like many Blue Grays do, to various parts of the mainland to aid people in need. The players will figure out what they're doing, accept the job, and move toward Milan and Black Five.

On the way, Ami will explain what they're up against. Consequently, she will have a mental breakdown. Tormentors' primary hunting grounds are mountainous regions. They'll sneak up on groups of travelers near dusk and very openly snatch one of them. Using them as shields and making sure everyone witnesses what they're doing, they'll then make their escape. The fates victims of Tormentors face are unspeakably horrific. Being eaten alive a claw full of flesh at a time is the best way it goes. Tormentors thrive on pain and the suffering of others. That's what makes the one at Black Five different, and what Ami has experienced first hand.

Tormentors love attention. As such they go after groups, not individuals. In her run in with this Tormentor, Ami will explain in detail how it stalked her. Threw snow at her. Knocked down trees beside her. Followed her at various distances. Eventually, while she was making camp, it slowly approached, sat down on the opposite side of her fire, and spoke to her. With a horrific grin in a disgusting voice it told her: "Come home Ami."

Ami is clearly based of Amiya from AK. Her name... Yeah I was lazy with this one won't lie. She becomes a recurring character and has a few bit parts in the Late Game. The Belkan War, Lan se, and a trip to North Point.
