Kochi Class Space Battleship
The Kōchi Class was a class of Japanese battleship developed and constructed during the Earth-Garmillas war. Before the war the Japanese Cosmo fleet had been considering developing a new class of Battleship to follow one from the predecessor class, the initial design selected for this would have been the yamato class a heavily modified version of the Musashi based design, however with the commencing of War in 2193 and the horrific attrition rate of Japanese battleships that resulted, the Japanese Admiralty decided that a more efficient and cheaper to build design was needed.
As such, the Kōchi Class was developed and designed using many different aspects and technologies from the previous classes of Japanese battleship, meaning that these ships proved to be extremely easy and cheap to construct. However, incorporating so many different design aspects and technologies from predecessor ships, and the overall cheap nature of their construction meant that the Kōchi Class gained a particularly negative reputation with cruise due to poor comfort and overall unreliability, with the class as a whole often being referred to as flying graveyards due to the high likelihood of the ships not returning from sorties.
25 of these ships would be planned, however only 9 of these battleships would be completed before the dockyard facilities they were being constructed in were completely obliterated during a widespread planet bomb attack by the Garmillas, the ships that had been commissioned would partake in many notable battles during the conflict, All Ships being destroyed or damaged beyond repair except for the Wakao, the third member of the class who along with the remaining ships of the Japanese Cosmo Navy would partake in one final battle that being operation m, or as it's known as the first Battle of Pluto.
