Xenoblade - Pneuma Scuba Diving

For this week’s picture back to the world of Xenoblade after celebrating my birthday and the new Z-A trailer in the weeks prior. This time I decided to commission a lineart that I coloured afterwards from my good artist friend StarMVenus. For this picture I decided to have Pneuma from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 scuba diving with regular gear while wearing her swimsuit. This is interesting picture in my case because this is the first time I’ve commissioned a scuba picture where the diver is wearing a swimsuit instead of a wetsuit (the Marin scuba sheet was just coloured by me, I had no involvement in conceiving the scenario). Pretty surprising that combination took so long for me get on considering the fact that I am mostly know for both swimsuit and scuba pictures, just the combination of these two was something that didn’t really cross in my mind before now. I decided to choose Pneuma for this kind of picture since I think her high tech one piece swimsuit would fit perfectly for scuba diving since it is designed for improving swimming efficiency. Plus I think Pneuma would be inclined to move into scuba diving after practising her swimming a lot before, after taking only glimpses of the underwater world I think the ultimate Blade would like to take a closer look at it’s wonders. In the end she finds the feeling of diving with her swimsuit so liberating as the sea’s gentle breeze is so refreshing on her skin and letting her divine ponytail flow freely underwater heavenly. Unlike in swimming her ponytail is not getting way in this wonderful new world for her, glad to see that my Blade waifu finds new ways to enjoy her interests in water sports ^^.

The colouring progress of this picture was quite straightforward since this picture got one character with pretty simple scuba gear and underwater background, pretty refreshing experience after doing a plenty of pictures with more complex gear types. Pneuma’s detailed swimsuit was pretty much the most complicated part to colour since it got a plenty of small details, still nice to see it in action in a different scenario like here ^^. Overall I like how this picture turned out in the end, always pleasure to work on more Xenoblade stuff and glad that I was able to publish this around the time I finished my playthrough of Xenoblade 2 on Twitch. Plus we are only two weeks away from X getting a Switch port, looking forward to finally experience that game since I never got a Wii U ^^.
