Nambu Type-94
During the reign of the Imperial Japanese Army, Kijiro Nambu was one busy man in the firearms industry. Following his retirement from the army and the founding of the Nambu Rifle Manufacturing Company, Nambu had come up with the designs for a newer pistol. Though his earlier weapon design was still used by Japan, it was heavier, so a smaller and lighter pistol was needed. The product of Kijiro's genius was the Type-94 and though it was designed in 1929, the weapon didn't begin service to Japan until late 1934. The weapon served until 1945 and by then, the newer models that came out were of a crude manufacture.
The Type-94 gets it's name from the Japanese calender, which the year was 2594. The weapon is a semi-automatic, with a muzzle velocity of up to 305 meters per second, 7.36 inches long and weighing in at 1 lb. 11 oz. The weapon fired the lower pressured 8×22mm Nambu, like most of the guns of the time period and in a 6 round magazine. The weapon was known as the "Suicide Special" or the "Surrender Pistol", as the gun had the issue of firing unintentionally. This was mostly due to the fact that the seer of the gun was external and if the weapon was cocked, as well as having the seer toggled only 2mm, the gun would go off. The gun also had an issue with the firing pin being weak and capable of breaking.
