Nightbringer II

In the 1930s a vigilante by the name Nightbringer began his war on crime in Hudson City. The scum of the streets learned to fear the night, knowing that a figure from the old city legends and wives tails had come alive to hunt them all down. But then in the early 50, the hero was gun down during a shootout. For a long time since his death, the reputation of the hero has been run through the mud and discredited. There was even a comedic TV show in the 60s that was "loosely" based on his life. None of it really helped. The late hero was a clownish figure who no one feared, especially the criminal he so effectively terrorized during his years active on the streets.
Then in in the late 90s a new masked vigilante appeared. He was ruthless. He showed just enough mercy to not kill his quarry and even then that was questionable since some of the scum he'd hunted may never walk again. After decades of the name being run through the mud and robbed of it's true legacy and impact, the criminal underworld and anyone who willingly endangers the innocent will learn to fear the Nightbringer once more.
