THEO-ODOROUS

"High" culture, "Low" culture.
Both share the same factor(s), don't they?

They reach (1) a limited subset of our society (2) for a limited period of time.
When the reach is widespread the duration tends to get shorter, but there are rare exceptions.
Novel things take time to catch on, but many are DOA-dead on arrival- and many more die before they can flourish.

The majority of the population (most of the time) doesn't care which is which.
Though they do care what their peers will judge of what they choose to appreciate.
That's what makes them the majority: Go with the flow. Ever and Always.

Let us be the rocks that stand out of the current, should we sink in a tidal wave to the ocean floor; be we artists/artisans, their (rich) clients with fat wallets/checkbooks or (humble) appreciators willing to pitch in our next lunch.
