WELCOME TO THE CHRONICLES OF ALIZTHEA
Everything started with The Cataclysm, an event triggered by the great war between the five races that inhabit the continent of Alizthea. In this ancient war, broken treaties led the races to deploy their most powerful assets—Essentialists. These individuals, capable of wielding the power of Essence, caused the great war to escalate into levels never seen before. The possibility of mutual annihilation became an almost certain reality, but after much devastation, the war ended.
Five Hundred Years have now passed, and civilization was able to raise from its ashes.
The world has changed, and Essentialists, who were once praised as the nearest things to the heavens, are now seen with fear and contempt.
The signing of the Accords allowed the formation of the Regulatory Council of Alizthea for Essentialists (known as The Council or RCAE). This continental organization's primary mission was to prevent the recurrence of another Cataclysm. A noble mission, signed by every leader on the continent for posterity. Problem is that after five hundred years, no matter how noble the purpose, it can become twisted.
This is a story set in a world where Essence users are both feared and needed. Where greed dictates the rules, and the fear of the many can determine the lives of the few.
