Pretty boy.
He wears his hair up around us now although, he usually wore it in some manner which covered the diamond/star shape on his forehead in youth and while serving.
I also reckon this is how he looked like later in life. I am lead to believe he ended up running away at some point, after the three were gone in their own respective ways. There seems to have been something he might have done which resulted in the Commander deciding to fully put him down. Or he simply had enough of Nivan and decided the same. Either way, David seems to have told him about it in private before they got to him, and he finally took it in his hands to run away with his family.
All this is based on a few snippets I got for now so, this is only speculation.
I do hope I am speculating in the right direction, however. Way better than I thought the end of his life was be like.
