Shinano Part 1 (Novel AI)

Shinano, or Shin to her friends, is a character I added back when my players first made their characters. She's specifically tied to Mizaru, played by my BFF Connor. He loves doing wacky things in DnD, which gave me a pretty solid setup to work with. Mizaru is the team's tank. Relatively dependable and a bit on the weird side. Her main issue, is that she has a crippling gambling addiction. I mean, CRIPPLING. To put that in perspective, Mizaru sold her parents as part of one of the games she ended up losing. Yeah. It's bad. Miz has no clue her parents are actually in Leasath working as slaves. That'll be a fun bridge we cross in the Late Game Opener during Aurelia's invasion of Leasath.

I gave all of my players a few special events to work with. Quinari became the Queenslayer. Erolith is our definitely not Belkan, who is secretly related to the Arch Dragons. Pima had the Prophetess of Luna. Yuta is a member of Leasath's Head Crime Family. And since Miz is more of a here for the fun of things over deep story, I gave her Shinano. Uh. She's also got Aichi. We had some fun improv after the group met Luna, and they ended up hustling some noobs in a game of pool, got drunk, and wound up spending the night together. Wink wink. We had a blast RPing it all out. Not the kinky part just the drinking and gambling. They're pretty tight now. Anyway.

Shin is Mizaru's childhood friend from San Loma. One day, Shinano and her family vanished. Miz has 0 clue why or where they ended up. They were there one day and gone without a trace the next day. I originally planned on introducing Shin during the fist Alma event which we just had, but in the end I felt there was a bit too much going on. Meeting Indigo and Leena, then Flyuger and Garo, plus going after Red. Too busy of a time. So I'm pushing her back a little bit. Still not 100% sure when yet.

Shin works as a waitress at a cafe. That's where they'll eventually meet. The thing is though, Shin and her family had a pretty solid reason for leaving. Some debt collectors came to her family's home in San Loma and threatened to sell them into slavery if they didn't pay them an exorbitant amount of money. They had to skip to keep that from happening. It was that bad. What Shin, and right now Miz don't know, is that Miz may or may not have put Shin and her family up as collateral in a game of poker... And she lost. So yeah. That's gonna be interesting.

So this is a Part 1 because I'm not super happy with the pics NAI was giving me. Definitely someone who's gonna need a revisit. That's gonna be a little bit. I still need to find a place for her to pop up before I worry about getting her art remade. So for now. Oh right her name. I love my history. I love my Japanese references. So I named her after the IJN super carrier Shinano. Which for better or worse was sunk by the Archerfish, an American submarine, before it saw any real combat. Shin is based off Frostleaf from AK. Love her a bunch. She killed in the anime. Enjoy.
