Gætíus' World: Ymsa Mædak

Gætíus' World is my low fantasy world which combines Old World iron age societies with American pre-Columbian cultures.
Ymsa Mædak is the ruler of Ænadó, an empire in northeastern Túlmikkía, the southern continent of Gætíus' World, which is inspired by the Muisca Confederation and Ancient Carthage. Like other ænatean emperors, Ymsa was elected by the heads of Ænadó's most powerful families, but so many members of the Mædak family have been elected over the years that it's basically the ruling dynasty at this point.
He has a special interest in the culture and religion of the different ethnic groups within Ænadó, and has converted a room in the palace into a private museum featuring their artworks and ceremonial objects.
The large nose-jewel Ymsa is wearing represents a stylized mouth of a shark, meant to inspire fear and respect, while the parrot (named Eká) is a status symbol only allowed for kings and other high-ranking ænateans. Parrots are believed to be messengers of the gods, and thus must be present during important ceremonies to let the gods know of their people's piety.
