Gætíus' World: Laxúlan warrior

Gætíus' World is my low fantasy world which combines Old World iron age societies with American pre-Columbian cultures.
The laxúlans inhabit the eastern edge of Laxilþía, the northern continent of Gætíus' World, bordering the powerful Rexan Empire to the west, and are inspired by ancient Germanic peoples and the ancient Tarascans. The rexans have long tried to conquer this heavily forested region, but have so far proven unsuccessful due to difficult terrain and fierce resistance (and occasional invasions) by the natives.
They are divided into small kingdoms, each centered around a stepped pyramid used for assemblies and sacrifices. Laxúlan craftsmen are skilled at making intricate gold and turquoise jewelry.
Laxúlan warriors, like the one depicted here, favour axes and spears in battle, tribal chiefs and wealthy warriors are the only only ones who regularly wear armour. Their weapons and arms are generally of much higher quality than the mass produced ones carried by the rexans.
